MJ's Reading Quest is a children's reading app made by Cascade Pixel Studios LLC. We take children's privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a parent.
Made for Kids
This app is designated "Made for Kids" on the Apple App Store. We comply fully with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
Data We Collect
The following data is entered or generated during normal use of the app. All data is stored locally on the device only.
- Child's name — entered by a parent, stored locally on device only
- Grade level — stored locally on device only
- Reading session data — words per minute (WPM), accuracy, and session duration; stored locally on device only
Data We Do Not Collect
- No advertising identifiers
- No analytics SDKs
- No third-party tracking
- No data is transmitted to Cascade Pixel Studios or any third party
- No account or login required
Speech Recognition (Read-Aloud Mode)
- Speech recognition is optional and off by default
- Uses Apple's on-device
SFSpeechRecognizerwithrequiresOnDeviceRecognition = true - Audio is processed entirely on the device
- No audio recordings are stored or transmitted
- Requires explicit microphone permission granted by a parent
Parental Controls
- All app settings are protected by a parent-set PIN
- Parents can view, edit, or delete all child data within the app
- Parents can reset all data from the Settings screen
Data Storage & Deletion
- All data is stored locally using Apple CoreData on the device
- Deleting the app permanently deletes all data
- No data is backed up to any Cascade Pixel Studios server
Third-Party Services
None. This app contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks.
